Roelant Eijgelaar

Roelant Eijgelaar has been working as a post doctoral research associate at the Amsterdam UMC since 2019. During his PhD research he has worked on improving treatment evaluation for patients with glioma in the PICTURE project. His research has focussed on the application of traditional and A.I. based image processing to address clinically relevant questions using MRI data. This includes deep learning based automatic tumor segmentation and quantitatively comparing the effect of the location of the tumor on treatment decisions between Hospitals. After his PhD work at the dutch cancer center (NKI) he has contributed to two grant applications, that were rewarded over 1mln. EUR cumulatively. His current work at the Amsterdam UMC continues the PICTURE project and focusses on using deep learning models to predict clinical outcomes, and to make these available in an interactive web application.
